being a member of team earth brings my attention to more than resources—beyond what something can “do” for me by way of plants/herbs
attuning my ears to sound,
wind over and under pines like rolling ocean waves
attuning to my eyes to the ground,
snake skin
animal, mineral
fur-feces-bone-stone
offer story, context, and voice
a root for the remembering what it is to inhabit this earth from beyond the lens of human mind
to see in the broad, tall view available
gifted by my human nervous system
(all things have consciousness, if you can describe the experience of some thing, there it is)
i am changed by their presence,
and connected by our habitat
i am a guest at the table
