my background

I'm Emma,

A practicing herbalist and licensed massage therapist based in New England. I reside in the profession of herbal care and therapeutic bodywork with compassion and reverence for the stories we hold in our bodies.

I believe that vibrant health is informed and best allied by attention to the physical, emotional, and spiritual. I love to bring recognition to wellbeing as also nurtured and enhanced by relationships and our connection to community and the natural world.

It is my hope that the diversity of my toolkit and the eclectic nature of my work honors the unique and complex weaving that is the fabric of each individual.

I have been immersed in the healing arts for over a decade; I hold a BA in Psychology and English Literature from the University of Connecticut, and have received certification from The Institute of Sustainable Health and Nutrition (2009-2015).

My training began in 2013, when I started working as administrative and patient support in a holistic wellness practice directly under a variety of health professionals (chiropractor, naturopath, homeopath, craniosacral and massage therapist).

My devotion to herbal education emerged formally in 2017 and is ongoing. I have worked directly with local wild food foragers, and studied with Mary Blue of Farmacy Herbs, Susan Clements of Earth and Ocean Herbals,  and Kay Parent of Rhode Island, as well as Melanie Scofield, Steve Byers, and Jillian Hyllantree Twisla of Earthwalk School of Herbal Traditions in Maine.

I hold a Massachusetts license to practice massage therapy (# 17565-MT) and am attuned to Reiki levels I and II by way of the Usui/Holy Fire tradition (Asa Angel, Myra Partyka).

I am deeply grateful to all of my teachers for the heart, patience, resources, and time they have shared with me. In this, I am devoted to live in a way that respects all that has come before me, and all that will come after me.
