cancellation policy
Please offer a minimum of 24 hours notice for appointment cancellation or service changes.
If you are running late, your massage duration may be reduced.
If you cannot make your appointment due to extenuating circumstances, please contact me so we can reschedule or remove you from the schedule without a fee.
A pattern of no shows or persistent rescheduling can result in the inability to book in the future.
Less than 24 hours notice cancellation: 50% of your service fee.
No call, no shows, late cancellation: 100% of service fee.
If incurred, clients will not be permitted to rebook until cancellation policy fees are paid in full.
Thank you for valuing my time and the experience for others as much as I do yours!
payment
Cash or check is preferred. Credit card and venmo also accepted.
Payment for all services is due at time of service unless otherwise arranged.
I do not accept insurance for massage therapy; however, if you would like to seek reimbursement from your insurance company after our completion of payment for your session, I can provide the appropriate paperwork upon request.
code of ethics
Massage therapists are trained professionals. At all times your therapist will adhere to state and ethical compliant rules on draping and etiquette for both your comfort and my safety.
Per these guidelines we hold a zero tolerance policy for sexual harassment and misconduct. Emma maintains the right to terminate a session at will and to decline future bookings, just as the client may withdraw consent and cease treatment at any time.
I value your privacy and work in compliance with HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Any information that is obtained from the health history interview process, or any consultation/educational session will be treated as privileged and confidential and will not be released or revealed to any person other than healthcare providers for which expressed written consent has been given.
on arrival & what to expect for your first visit
Services are by appointment only & additional guests (children, babies, partner, service animal) are allowed in the space on a case by case basis.
Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes early to your scheduled appointment time as I do not have a waiting room, feel free to text when you arrive and I will inform you when to come up.
Intake process for new and follow up clients is accounted for and does not take away from your hands on massage time (please account for adding ~15/20 minutes to your total visit time). For first time bodywork (herbal intakes are emailed in advance), I will have you complete an intake form and we will review your health history (injuries, areas of tension, allergies), intentions for your session, pressure preferences and any areas to avoid.
Before we begin, feel free to use the restroom, silence electronics. There is designated space for you to remove jewelry and place your belongings adjacent to the massage table.
how to best prepare for your massage
Arriving with intention and the mindset to receive will guide you in having the best massage possible. The more we can collaborate and communicate about your goals, the better your massage outcome. I am here to facilitate inquiry around body awareness so as to help you best determine what that looks like!
Ideally be hydrated and nourished so you don't experience low blood sugar or have to disrupt your session to use the restroom (although you are always welcome to so you aren't distracted).
After your massage, you may feel lighter, more relaxed, and connected to your body. My skillset is in holding space for your whole being, mind and body, so that you feel transformed into greater coherence. If you are receiving deeper work or modalities such as cupping, trigger point, and sports style massage, you may be sore but you should never leave in pain.
I recommend making space to integrate after your bodywork experience when possible. Allowing yourself quiet and nourishing activity like a walk or gentle stretching after will assist in reaping the most benefits possible.
client alignment & massage style
I serve a large variety of walks of life though I currently do not treat the pediatric population. You must be 18 years or older to receive services. My style of work emphasizes stress reduction, pain relief, and appreciates the interconnection of mental health and emotional wellbeing on our physiology. I work with a broad spectrum of individuals- from athletes, farmers, hospitality industry & service workers, to corporate tenders and tech folks on their feet or computer all day. Clients with complex medical conditions that require many modifications may be best suited towards another practitioner, I am happy to provide referrals. Most humans and occupations are in relationship to some kind of repetitive motion, posture, or tension pattern what benefits from massage's ability to improve range of motion and release the body from restriction and stress.
location details
Google Maps: 21 Bread and Milk St, Coventry CT USA
I am in the small red barn building with a weathervane with a small parking lot in front. You will see signs for Golf Factory and a bicycle shop. Please note, maps has the location pin on the residence next door, avoid parking here as it is a private driveway. I am on the right side of the barn building, second stairway in the back on the top floor. You will follow a hedge and stone walkway, I have a windchime on my stairs.
My office is currently inaccessible by wheeled mobility aids (one outdoor flight of stairs, no ramp). If you need more details on my location environment or are unable to visit due to lack of building accommodations, please contact me to discuss referrals or alternative arrangements.
